A landlord showed me a nice apartment in Culver City (La Salle Ave). The area looked clean and safe. I have never lived in Culver City and would love to get some insight.

I lived in Palms for many years and ended up in Culver City quite frequently. Culver City is one of the better spots in LA. Clean, safe (Culver City police is no joke), good restaurants, and way more walkable than most of the city. La Salle Ave is a solid area.
The food in Culver City is outstanding. Sometimes I travel all the way from West Hollywood. One unmatched spot is Pampas Grill on Overland. Prices are unbeatable, and so is the quality of the food.

There is nothing wrong with Culver City. Feels safe. I’m a frequent visitor. There is an In-N-Out and superb grocery stores. Parking can be challenging.
I can recommend the Culver City Stairs, aka Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. They attract many people. I go there at least twice a month. Really challenging on warmer days. The city views are well worth it, though.

I lived there for half a year with some roommates. It was a great time. Thought about moving back at one point, but the rent prices almost doubled over the last 15 years.
Traffic can be a bitch in some areas. Nevertheless, a lovely place.
.. and it is.
I would describe Culver City as one of the friendlier places for families. Never felt unsafe over there, not even at night. People are less flashy than in places like West Hollywood. It’s a place that seems pretty down-to-earth.

I consider it one of the better and more desirable places in all of L.A. County.
It’s crazy how each neighborhood/city in L.A. County has its very own vibe. West Hollywood/Culver City are like day and night. Culver City is a nice place to raise a family. Culver City is still more affordable than West Hollywood in some parts.
True, rent prices went up, but they did everywhere.

I wish we had something like that in Santa Monica. Worth the drive whenever I am craving some Brazilian BBQ. Love the whole concept of creating your own plate and then weighing it. It always surprises me how cheap the final result is.
There is also a Metro station, the E Line, I believe. It brings you all the way from Santa Monica to Downtown. Metro got rid of a big chunk of their homeless problem. Feels safer nowadays.

Okay, sounds like everyone is pretty happy with Culver City.
I heard driving anywhere near there around rush hour is the ninth circle of hell. 
But I think that accounts for most parts of L.A. County or even Southern California. Anyways, thanks for the replies. Feel free to post more insight whenever something comes to your mind.

Super worth it. I saw some of the best sunsets from there.
Walking up once is usually enough for me.
That is actually what I love about L.A.. It doesn't matter what you like. You will always find the right place. Researching the right neighborhoods is key.
Traffic around Venice Blvd is bad. Watch out where you park. Parking enforcement in Culver City is very strict. Nightlife is okay but nothing special compared to other parts of Los Angeles. I think it's a good place otherwise.
The views are impressive. It gets very dark at night, though.
So you'd better watch your steps on the way down. ^^
I am okay with that. Getting older. 
I'd rather have a drink on my balcony these days. Those wild days or nights are memories of the past.
I like Culver City because it feels crazy convenient. It has a huge variety of supermarkets, a tram connection, IN-N-Out, Best Buy and amazing restaurants.
