Management sprayed once for roaches and called it handled, what actually worked for you?

Management sprayed once for roaches and called it handled. I still see them at night around the sink, and I am not moving, I am trying to get this unit livable. What actually worked for you. Traps, a second treatment, a written complaint, something else.

I baited the kitchen, sealed the gap under the sink, and the nightly parade stopped in about a week. Spray alone never did it for me.

Gel bait stations behind the stove, not another fogger. The spray show is for their file. The bait is what the roaches actually eat there.

From the owner side, one spray is not a treatment plan. Put it in writing, dates, where you are seeing them, and ask for a licensed follow up, not a hallway spray. Keep photos. A manager will call it handled after one visit because that is the cheapest box to check. A paper trail makes it a maintenance item they have to finish. Ask for a date, not a promise.

I looked at our lease when we had the same thing. If the building is supposed to do pest control, one visit does not close it. Email the manager, attach a photo, and ask for the next scheduled treatment in writing. We got a second visit once it was on email instead of a text.

Let me be honest. Management will drag this. I bought bait stations at Target, ran them along the sink line, and it was better that week. I still sent the email so they could not say I never reported it.

If they stall after the second written request, LA Housing is 866-557-7368. Roaches in the unit is a habitability issue, not a personality clash with the neighbor. An inspector looking at the kitchen gets a deadline on the landlord. One spray in the hallway does not survive that conversation.

I agree. Gel bait worked way better for me than spraying. I put tiny dots behind the fridge, under the sink and around the cabinets. Took maybe 10 days, but the difference was huge.

I had that once and filed a report. The building manager called a company from the Valley (Earth First, I believe). They fixed the problem. I never had issues afterward.

I would keep reporting it to management until they handled it.

This! Don't let them play you. You are the one with the law on your side.
