West Hollywood bar crawl? Are there any popular places that you feel are overrated or not worth the time? Which places would you recommend for bar-hopping that look good to you?

I think walking on Santa Monica makes bar hopping easy and fun. I would start at Employees Only for some food and cocktails, and then gradually move west toward the busier LGBTQ+ bars. Micky’s and The Abbey are better once you’re ready for a bit more action. Santa Monica Blvd is the best place for that in Los Angeles.

I went to The Abbey a couple of days ago. Still super worth it. We didn't bar-hop and just stayed. So I might not be entirely qualified to answer this. That place was fun, though.

It depends on the mood you are in. The Sunset Strip is better if you want classic Hollywood nightlife rather than one long row of walkable bars. Santa Monica Blvd is easier to navigate.
If you decide on Sunset Blvd, go to Whisky a Go Go first. Then try Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis. I would say it's more of a hidden gem with many locals. It has an old-school rock-and-roll atmosphere. Then end it with Naughty Pig for some good food, a burger, or pizza. Or just the drinks and go to Carneys instead for the burgers.
Just remember that the Strip is spread out, so you’ll probably need to use Uber between some stops.

I feel like I can't do Santa Monica Blvd and bar hopping anymore. It's too much for me. So I just do Surly Goat and maybe, just maybe, Employees Only next door, then call an Uber, Waymo, or Lyft for the rescue.

.. and that would be enough for me as well. 
Sunset is calmer, that's for sure.
Juniper Lounge is a bit more upscale. They have great drinks/food and sometimes nice live music. Afterward, for the views, the Tower Bar (Sunset Tower).

That's the best route for nice memories and a not "so nice" hangover the next day.
