Which farmers market is worth getting up early for?

Making my weekend list tonight and a farmers market keeps getting written down and then skipped. I work remote so an early morning is genuinely easy for me, I just do not want to drive across town for a parking lot with three stands and a kettle corn guy.

Hollywood on Sunday, Santa Monica on Wednesday, Mar Vista, Atwater. Which one is actually worth setting an alarm for, and what do I buy when I get there?

Hollywood on Sunday is the one, hands down. It is huge, three streets of it, and the stone fruit and the tamales near Selma are worth the drive from downtown for me. Go before 10 or you will circle for parking forever!! Weiser Farms at ROW DTLA on Saturday is my lazy option, tiny but the potatoes are sooo good.

Wednesday on Arizona is my whole morning routine, and I say that as someone who can walk to it. It is the chef market, you will see actual restaurant people arguing over the last of something, and the produce quality is a step above everything else on the Westside.

Get there by 9. Coleman Family Farms for herbs, Weiser for potatoes, and there is a Saturday one on Arizona too if you cannot swing a weekday, girl.

The Original Famers Market is worth a visit and likely the most impressive for tourists.

Mar Vista on Sunday is the honest answer for the Westside. Smaller, easy parking, no tourists. That is the whole appeal.

Atwater on Sunday, then Dune next door for the lamb sandwich. Skip the produce.

Okay the Venice one on Friday morning is small but it is my favorite thing about the week. It is right on Venice Blvd by the library, seven to eleven, and it is all locals and dogs and nobody is filming content.

If you want the big experience though go Hollywood. It is genuinely fun, live music, the flower guys, and you can walk out with a full week of food.

My move either way is coffee first. Menotti's if I am in Venice, otherwise whatever is nearest, because doing a market before caffeine is rough.

The Beverly Hills market on Sunday morning is lovely and nobody ever mentions it. Civic Center Drive, nine to one, very civilized, and the citrus and the bread are excellent.

It is smaller than Hollywood and that is precisely why I go. You can park in the structure, walk it in forty minutes, and still be home for the rest of your morning. Bring cash, a few of the better stands still prefer it.

Hollywood Farmers’ Market Is one of the best. This market is really large and full of excellent produce, like locally grown fruits, vegetables, cheese, baked goods, excellent food, flowers, drinks, fish, or crafts. Yeah, it literally got everything you need.

It ranks among the pricier farmers markets, but the quality is exceptional. It holds a special place in my heart. I absolutely love going there and interact with the people. It’s an experience.

I know the one in Culver City is rather small, but I like it. I go there every Tuesday. It offers a great selection of organic food. Vendors are always friendly.

The Original Farmers Market is still my favorite when I want a good lunch or dinner. They have a huge selection of small eateries. Parking can be a hassle.

The one in Hollywood is also great.
