Which neighboorhood do you recommend, which one would you avoid?

Probably West Hollywood, followed by Santa Monica.

Koreatown is nice too. I would avoid places with less nightlife.

That said, L.A. is great for making new friends.

West Hollywood, depending on how “open” you are. I am a hetero, but I love the vibe. Santa Monica Blvd is always fun. I would avoid it during Halloween because of the crowds.
