The number of homicides in California has decreased 17.5%, according to statistics from the state Department of Justice. As a result, the homicide rate for 2025 was 3.5 per 100,000 people, the lowest it has been since crime recording began six decades ago.
People in San Francisco and Los Angeles replaced their progressive District Attorneys; it seems to pay off.
Most cities increased the police budget after defunding the police didn’t work. I think that played a role too. How do you feel about this?
It looks like some common sense paid off.
Gascon and Chiesa didn’t prosecute criminals. Their approach didn’t work and it was very obvious. Nathan Hochman does a better job. People are finally paying a price for their criminal actions. They aren’t the victims anymore.
I hope people will remember this. We tend to make the same mistakes over and over. Defund the police will never work. Progressive District Attorneys are even worse.
I am rather liberal, but I won’t tolerate crime or vote for defunding the police. George Gascon should have been held accountable for what he did, or better said, didn’t do → His job.
