I live in Venice and most weekends I am out, so I keep hearing Arts District after dark like it is a whole night. Is it actually a night out, or is it breweries until 10 and then the neighborhood goes quiet?
I will drive east for it if the night is real. I do not want to sit in a taproom that empties while Hollywood is just getting started.
Arts District Brewing on Traction. Beer, a table, you are done by 10. That is a hang, not a night if you still want music after.
Bar Americano on 3rd. Stand at the rail, order a negroni, it feels like a real bar. Then the block still gets quiet after that.
Everson Royce Bar on 7th is the one that made me stop calling it only breweries. Burger, a proper drink, and the room stays alive later than the taprooms. I still would not plan a 1am night there the way I would in WeHo, but it is a night, not a 6pm tasting flight.
Death and Co on 3rd if you want cocktails to be the point. I have gone after work downtown, sat at the bar, and it does not feel like a brewery patio. The catch is you are done when the room is done. It is a destination drink, then you decide if you keep going west.
EightyTwo on 4th Place. Pinball, drinks, and it actually feels like staying out. That is the difference between a brewery stop and a night. I would still not skip parking math. Give yourself time on the way in, because the streets get weird after 11.
Arrow Lodge on 3rd and Boomtown on Jackson are the brewery half of the argument, and they are good. The night half is Everson Royce and EightyTwo. If you leave Venice for this, stack a brewery early and a bar later or you will be on the 10 home while your friends in WeHo are still in line. It is a real night if you build it. It is not a scene that carries you.
Haha what’s wrong with brewing companies? Arts District Brewing Company on Traction Ave has amazing burgers and nacho plates.
Not sure if I would call it a “full night out”. It’s a good place to get the night started. There is not much in terms of dancing or clubbing.
Then Arts District isn’t worth the drive. WeHo or Hollywood are worlds ahead in terms of nightlife.
I’d rather go there during the day.

It’s easier for guys to feel entertained over there.
Unless you join some of those secret TBA warehouse raves. A lot of them are right around that area. That’s when the Art District wins against WeHo or SM. Otherwise it’s a nope for me.
