Avoid the Boardwalk 11 GASTROPUB and Karaoke

I liked to go there years ago. There were always crowds and you had a hard time finding a table. Things changed after Covid and the Gordon Ramsay “Kitchen nightmares” episode didn’t help either. The owner Steve doesn’t even great people when they come in. Stormy the barman doesn’t care either.

I remember seeing Steve’s ex wife there (years ago, she still owns part of it), she is completely different. Funny, friendly, remembers your names. I didn’t see her for ages and Steve is nothing like her.

I don’t really recommend going there anymore. Karaoke can still be fun though, but not worth the money.

Irish Times next door is way better.

Being on kitchen nightmares is one thing. Not learning, is another.

:joy:.. exactly my thoughts. Funny part, I remember that episode. I kinda like that Cath (or whatever her name was). No wonder she left.

I just saw that one on YouTube. I'd better not say how I feel about such places (otherwise I will get banned). I doubt that anything changed. There are better food options right next door.

My friends and I went there frequently around 2015. It was so crowded on weekends that you could barely walk. Things went downhill from that point on. Staff changed, food got worse, and the place doesn’t attract the same crowds either.

The only good thing is that the bouncer Sammy is back. He is a good and fun guy.

That's what I keep telling people.

Irish is still fun, but Boardwalk passed the point of no return. I remember we had some great nights there before everything changed. I just gave up on coming back over the years.

Yeah the Boardwalk stopped being worth it a while ago. It used to be packed and fun, then the vibe just left and never came back.

Irish Times right next door is the better call if you are already down there. Still has a decent crowd and the energy Boardwalk lost.

This place was once known to be one of the best karaoke spots in Los Angeles. I never understood how the owner (Steve) gave up on it. A lot of times you walk in and aren’t even greeted. Like worst kitchen nightmares wasn’t enough.

Hey brother, thanks for sharing your opinion. This thread ranks as one of the highest Boardwalk 11 searches on Google. I mean for some reason they never liked us in first place, but I feel now they might eighty-six us for telling the truth.

Or maybe they upgrade their game? I just doubt it. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Well, that means new customers for the Irish Times.

Just found this clip of Kitchen Nightmares. Looks like the owner didn’t learn and the good people like Kat are gone because of it. Just watching this gives me chills. Do people still order food there?

More concerning to me is the fact that places like this one are allowed to operate. How do they get their health certificates approved?

Imagine you are one of these health employees and watched that episode on Kitchen Nightmares.
