We’ve added a chat feature to Us in LA! 
Us in LA Chat gives members a faster and more casual way to talk with other people across Los Angeles. While the forum is still the best place for questions, recommendations, local discussions, and topics that should be easy to find later, the Chat is for conversations happening right now.
You can use the Los Angeles community chat to talk about what’s happening around LA, ask a quick question, share something interesting, or simply connect with other Us in LA members.
What can you use Us in LA Chat for?
- Quick questions about Los Angeles
- Local recommendations and tips
- Things happening around LA right now
- Food, nightlife, neighborhoods, traffic, events, and everyday LA life
- Casual conversations with other locals
- Meeting and getting to know other members of the Us in LA community
The following things are NOT allowed:
- Harassment or bullying — threats, targeted insults, intimidation, stalking, or repeatedly attacking another member.
- Hate speech — attacks or degrading content targeting people based on protected characteristics.
- Sexually explicit content — pornography, explicit sexual images/videos, or sexually explicit solicitation.
- Violence and threats — credible threats, encouragement of violence, or graphic violent content.
- Illegal activity — using the chat to buy, sell, arrange, or facilitate illegal goods or services.
- Personal information / doxxing — posting someone else’s address, phone number, private messages, or other sensitive information without permission.
- Spam and scams — repetitive advertising, phishing, fraudulent offers, fake giveaways, or mass unsolicited messages.
- Impersonation — pretending to be another person, business, moderator, or Us in LA staff member.
- Abusive behavior — deliberately disrupting conversations, trolling members repeatedly, or circumventing moderation actions.
- Content involving sexual exploitation of minors — absolutely prohibited and subject to immediate removal/account action.
Think of the forum as the place for lasting discussions and the Us in LA Chat as the place for real-time conversations.
You’ll find the Chat feature in the upper right corner (next to the menu & profile picture). It’s a members only chat and not visible to visitors. Jump in, say hello, and help us build an active community chat for Los Angeles.
