It was LAPD’s “Operation Street Sweeper” around Figueroa Street and Alondra Boulevard. Some of the earliest reports had slightly lower arrest/impound figures, but the later updated reports settled on 570 citations and 200 vehicles.
How do you guys feel about it?
That’s the only way these thugs learn. The LAPD was just waiting for it. Good luck getting your cars back.

This is music to my ears. These takeovers have been wrecking intersections, keeping people up all night, and turning entire neighborhoods into a demolition derby. 700 people, guns, NOS, kids out at 2 a.m.? That’s not “car culture,” that’s a public safety problem.
Please LAPD, do this every weekend until they stop advertising the next one on IG.
69 arrests and 200 impounds is a good start. The test is whether they keep the staffing up next Saturday when the organizers just move a couple miles over.
One big raid looks great on CBS. Repeat enforcement is what actually changes behavior.
442 citaciones were for spectating at the street takeover and 128 were for juvenile curfew. The arrests were because of participation.
That’s just lovely. Especially the arrest and impounding part. Keep it going.

Keep the arrests coming. You could really hear how relieved some of these residents were. The towing/storage fees on 200 cars will get expensive REALLY fast.

The Los Angeles City Council calls now for a report on available and additional enforcement tools necessary to crack down on street takeovers. Looks like people had finally enough.
