Went to Riviera 31 last Monday (Sofitel on Beverly) with a couple friends and I think it’s a lovely place with special vibes. It’s hard to describe, kinda that French Riviera-meets-old-Hollywood feeling.
We got there for jazz night and the live band was excellent. Don’t be shocked to see the place completely packed on a Monday night. It’s one of the better hotel bars I visited in West Hollywood. The cocktails are strong and well crafted.

Right, these events are regular events. They were established many years ago. That’s why they attract such crowds. They have some really talented performers over there.
The burlesque shows are also famous. Prices aren’t like they were in the mid-2010s anymore. So be prepared to spend some cash. Signature cocktails are like $22 and normal cocktails around $20. I go there 2-3 times a year and never had a bad experience.
To be honest I believe it varies. I don’t remember paying on Monday‘s, but I remember we had to pay a cover for some of the Salsa nights. That was around $20. They usually open around 5 pm on a Monday, but their shows don’t start before 8:30 or 9 pm. Wednesday/Friday earlier.. like 6-7 pm.
I would just give them a call ahead of time and maybe get a table with bottle service. As I said, it can get packed.
It was around 8:30 when we went. We didn’t reserve the lounge area as we didn’t even know that was possible. Probably rather expensive. We were still able to communicate even so it was rather loud.
It’s technically not West Hollywood, but Los Angeles. Very close by, I know, and they even advertise that place as „voted best Hotel Bar in West Hollywood“ on their own website.
I went there for drinks with friends. We never did the live events though as I prefer the calmer nights. Their cocktails are an A+, so is the service. Shout-out to Matthew. I hope you are still there.
