The homeless non-profit fraud needs to stop! This is seriously messed up. Living in luxury while those in need are dying on our streets. This makes me mad.

This is exactly why people have lost so much trust in these organizations. If money is meant to help people get off the streets, there needs to be way more transparency about where every dollar goes. The sad part is that even legit organizations lose trust.

He even opened a nightclub with that money? What on earth is going on? These people should be out on Skid Row helping. Instead, they open clubs and go on expensive vacations. Everyone involved needs real punishment. I repeat, EVERYONE.

Los Angeles has spent an unbelievable amount on homelessness and somehow the situation still feels completely out of control. Cases like this definitely don’t help public confidence.
I hope they investigate this all the way through and publish exactly where the money went. If people abused funds that were supposed to help the homeless, there should be serious consequences.

Right, you can't make that stuff up. We don't have to. It's obvious. Home At Last took in over $100 million, and the founder is accused of siphoning millions into a nightclub, a bingo hall, vacations, and vintage cars. Another person was allegedly taking bribes to refer “ghost” clients who were never actually housed.
People die on the sidewalk while someone builds a lounge in Inglewood with money meant to buy beds. This isn’t a paperwork error. It’s theft from the people who needed it most.

That's why I'd rather bring food to the homeless myself. You never know where your money goes. I am certainly not supporting any more fraud schemes.

Why do federal agents have to step in? Shouldn't local politicians worry about that as well? Shouldn't they be the most concerned? Just sick.

Well, Bass at least welcomed the arrests and said that fraud has no place. I didn't hear anything from Gavin Newsom. The question is, why was nothing done before?

Her uncle spoke with a reporter and he said she had substance abuse issues. She also has misdemeanor charges for things like theft and burglary.
