I was looking for rooftop bars in downtown LA that stay open until 2 AM and came across Treehouse Rooftop in Chinatown.
It has a 2.0 Google rating (and about 1.7 on Yelp), which is pretty shocking for a venue that still draws weekend lines. What’s going on with that place?
I found that place as well when I looked for rooftop bars some years ago. It’s pretty much a one-story building plus a roof deck. No pretty views, no fancy anything and some of the rudest bouncers.
A friend told me that it gets really crowded during the weekend and that people are actually dancing. I decided to skip that experience. It’s not the kind of place I was looking for. It probably wasn’t the kind of place you were looking for, either.
Went there once and didn’t make it in. Not because I got rejected but because the flyer said $5 and the door lady wanted $50 each.
Wasted 1 1/2 hours of my life. Never again.
I’ve never been to that place, but after checking the Google/Yelp reviews… no way I would even try it! 
On top of that, it’s not really the kind of rooftop spot I’m looking for. 
Sorry, but I’ll pass.
What a horrible place, seriously. A woman complains about being discriminated and the owner has nothing else to say than this..
That tells you literally everything you need to know. Let’s give this place the publicity it deserve.
Wow, that owner is a disgrace. 
I think that owner has some real issues. Every other business would at least occasionally admit some wrongdoing, or address some of the issues, not this guy. He doesn’t care and enjoys the show.
To the owner: Yes, you have your freedom of speech, but so do we.
That’s right. Not only that, we fully encourage your freedom of speech here, especially when people address real concerns. 
It’s funny, I checked most of the reviews. The owner keeps saying „at least we aren’t ghetto“. I doubt anyone on this page would ever visit your club. It’s literally the definition of ghetto.
I live in DTLA, and I promise you, I would never ever step foot in that club. I’ve heard about it, sure, but nothing good. I think with a 1.7 rating on Yelp, you just stop caring. It’s never the owner’s fault… but then how come other places have better ratings?
I didn’t even know such places exist in L.A.. 
Shameful management, shameful behavior.
I understand that there are rules and that „joggers“ might be inappropriate, but there is a reason people keep coming in „joggers“..
You don’t see them coming in sweatpants to places like the Perch, the Bungalow or whatever exclusive club you find in West Hollywood / Santa Monica.
I totally understand that there is a dress code. I understand that people get rejected because of it. What I don’t understand is how the owner reacts to legitimate concerns and reviews.
I know this club. It mostly attracts Hispanic crowds in their 20s. Some of them don’t know how to dress. The club itself isn’t fancy, the music is good, but the bouncers are rude and inconsistent. That’s why this club is rated as one of the worst..
It’s funny how the owner dismisses every single review like he knows exactly which person wrote it. Like „Nah, you did this and that.“ I understand that some responses make sense, like when people show up in sweatpants, but others?
I get it, that job can get frustrating, but come on? 
Good that I never heard of that one. Now that I did, I will avoid it. Some experiences are better not made.
That’s the problem with places that get crowded because of their location anyways, but a 1,7 rating on Yelp is quite something. Does this qualify as the worst rooftop club / bar in Los Angeles?
