What’s the real dress code like at clubs you visit in Los Angeles? Is it actually as strict and upscale as people make it seem, or more relaxed once you’re there? What’s the biggest difference between what you expect to wear and what people actually show up in?

Honestly depends on the spot. WeHo is way more dressed up, but a lot of Hollywood clubs are more about confidence than the actual outfit. I think a lot of clubs are just trying to survive the post Covid era.

Girls definitely dress up more, but for guys it’s super inconsistent. I’ve seen people get in with cargos and others get turned away in dress shoes

That’s why I don’t even dress up to impress anymore. If you don’t want me there then I bring my money somewhere else.

It really depends on where I go, though.
I always keep my style and haven’t had any problems so far. I don’t really go to super fancy places. The only time I dress up is for weddings.

I also don't dress to impress unless it's for work or special events. Sometimes, whenever my girlfriend dresses up, I join out of courtesy. I don't want to look like a bum next to her. 
Sometimes I do, though.
Just check the website for a dress code whenever you go to a new place.
