Curious how people are feeling about Los Angeles lately. Has your quality of life improved, stayed the same, or gotten worse over the past year or two? Between cost of living, traffic, safety, and work opportunities, it feels like things have shifted a lot. What’s your honest experience right now?

I wanna be real here, I like LA a lot, but it’s a mixed bag for me right now. I love the weather and the diversity of things to do, you can go from a hike to a great restaurant, the snow (Big Bear), the beach, in the same day.
But the cost of living is getting harder to justify, especially rent. I feel like I am working more just to maintain the same lifestyle I had a couple of years ago. Traffic also hasn’t gotten any better, and that adds daily stress. Still, I’m not ready to leave because the opportunities here are hard to match.

Still love LA, but I’m starting to question how long I can afford to stay. Especially with a lot of jobs being replaced by AI.

I moved to LA to pursue my actor dream, so for me it’s still worth it, but it’s not easy. There are definitely more opportunities here than anywhere else, but the competition is intense and unpaid work is still very common. Financially, it’s stressful, and I have had to juggle multiple side gigs just to stay afloat. I wouldn’t have survived without serving drinks during the week. That said, being surrounded by people chasing similar goals keeps me motivated. My quality of life isn’t “comfortable,” but it feels purposeful.

Honestly, my quality of life is pretty solid right now. I work remotely, so I avoid most of the traffic, and I make enough to enjoy what LA offers.
I can go out, travel occasionally, and not stress too much about bills. The biggest downside is still housing, buying here feels almost out of reach even with a good salary.
But day-to-day, it’s hard to complain.

I guess I am kinda fortunate to own a place in WeHo, have savings, and down to earth people I consider my best friends. L.A. is still the city I want to be.

Freedom is great, but income is unpredictable. LA makes that stressful. I guess most of us are just trying to survive because it’s the city of our dreams.
I feel that’s the same in any city though.
I saw so many YouTubers talking smack about L.A. just for clicks.
L.A. is still one of the best cities in the world to fulfill your dreams. I don’t understand why so many people are so negative. You love it, or you hate it.
It’s just for the clicks, brother. They need to get their numbers so they go to Skid Row and act like that’s all we got. Shameful “constant creators”.
