I live walking distance from SoFi and I still watch most games on my couch, which feels backwards. Every spot I try either wants twenty five dollars for a burger or has the game buried on the one screen facing the wrong way. I am not after anything fancy, just normal beer prices, the sound actually on, and a screen you can see from a regular table. Where are you all going?
The Griffin on Los Feliz is my default for this. Dark room, sound actually up for anything that matters, and no fifteen dollar beers. Get there before kickoff, the good seats go early.
Arts District Brewing on Traction has exactly the setup you are describing, big open room, screens you can see from anywhere, and skee-ball for when the game goes bad. Beers are normal brewery prices instead of stadium prices, sooo much better than the LA Live trap two blocks from the arena. Go early on a Sunday though, the long tables fill up with groups and then you are standing all afternoon.
Hudson House in Redondo, right on PCH. Dark room, good screens, no pretense, and the food is actually worth eating instead of the twenty dollar nachos you get at a chain.
The math is the part people skip. Two beers and a burger there runs me about thirty five out the door, and the same afternoon near the arena downtown is closer to sixty before parking. I grew up around Torrance so I am biased toward the South Bay, but if you are anywhere near the 405 south it is worth the drive.
Out here I go to Lucky Baldwins on Raymond. It is a British pub so the early soccer is always on, the beer list is deep without being expensive, and you can actually hear it. Verdugo Bar over by Eagle Rock is the other one, patio outside and screens inside, nobody bothers you. Both are easy if you are already on the 134 or the 210.
If it is soccer you are after, Fox and Hounds in Studio City opens early for the morning games and it is a proper pub, not a room full of televisions. Worth the drive over the hill for me.
What I would skip is anything within walking distance of the arena on a game day. Same beer at double the price, and you end up watching it over somebody's head.
Seconding Arts District Brewing, the whole room actually reacts when a game is on. Show up an hour early on a Sunday though or there is nowhere to sit.
The Nile Bar on Market Street wasn’t bad. About a mile from SoFi. Went there once because a friend didn’t get any tickets for SoFi. Was fun. Not too expensive and good lighting/screens.
If you’re willing to leave the immediate SoFi bubble: 33 Taps in Culver City. TVs inside and on the patio. We go there frequently. Fair prices, good service.
One of my favorites as well. Way more fun than Busby's West or the Garage. They have 33 different types of beer indeed, so the name isn't just made up.
Banter Bar is also fun. They have two pool tables and a great local crowd. I don't know much about Inglewood to be honest.
