Every single time we go out the same thing happens. Two o'clock hits, they turn the lights on, and the whole group stands on the sidewalk going okay now what, and then we just go home slightly annoyed!!
So where does the night actually continue? Real after hours spots, or the food you go get, or someone's roof, I want to know what people actually do at 2:15.
LA is a 2am city, that is just the deal. The move is deciding at 1:30 instead of standing outside at 2:05 arguing about it. We go straight from Sunset down to Original Tommy's on Beverly, open all night, nobody cares what you look like.
The Westside just dies at two, I am sorry. Santa Monica goes dark and you are looking at the In-N-Out on Sepulveda before it closes at 1:30, which does not help you at 2:15.
I still miss the Standard lobby for exactly this. If the night is still going, drive east, girl.
Leo's truck at Venice and La Brea. That is the night.
I am out by midnight. If pushed, Norms on Pico.
Honestly nothing in Venice is open, so the answer is always the car. We roll to Tommy's or we go all the way to K-town, and K-town is the right call every time.
Gangnam Pocha goes till two and then somebody's apartment with a speaker until the sun does its thing. My friends will tell you I am the one who says one more place and then falls asleep in the back seat.
Living here I can tell you the two o'clock crowd just walks a few blocks and keeps eating. BCD Tofu House on Wilshire is the classic, soon tofu at three in the morning fixes almost anything, and Hae Jang Chon does Korean barbecue around the clock if the group still wants a table.
Kouraku in Little Tokyo runs late too. The real secret is that the karaoke rooms do not care what time it is.
After 2 a.m? Probably a taco truck or some secret underground party. Just don’t hunt for a “secret after hours club” unless someone already has the address and knows the door guy. Downtown has a lot going on after 2 a.m., so does Hollywood.
I am not trying to be funny.. but after 2 AM it’s probably someone’s kitchen or balcony. These are the most legendary nights. 
After that you walk home during sunrise, acting as you are one of those “the early bird catches the worm” guys.
That’s the most L.A. thing ever. 
We all have been there.. More times than I can actually count. Best nights ever.
